a brief pause while I wait for Bob, of Bob Best’s Windows fame to deliver my new window unit (next week I hope). I explained my amateurish mistake while breaking the old one, and he said sagely: ‘it does happen, mate’ which made me feel better about the whole thing.
The other important step in getting weathertight is to glue down the rubber roof, however, this requires an unlikely set of meteorological circumstances:
- two days of breezy sunshine to dry out the roof
- two days of above freezing temperature (the adhesive is water based and can’t be used below zero).
.. given the recent weather it is quite possibly this sequence won’t arrive until April.
to pass the time, here is a blurry picture from my back door taken the day before yesterday. It is very wet.
